Conway WME 529

The Conway WME 529, launched in 2021, is a high-quality mountain bike priced at 3,199 EUR, placing it in the upper mid-range. The frame is made from lightweight and robust carbon, which not only gives the bike stability but also a sporty look. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg, the bike is suitable for both intensive trail riding and everyday use.

The braking system utilises the tried-and-tested SHIMANO ‘Deore’ series, with BR-M6120 brakes at the front and BR-M6100 at the rear, complemented by SHIMANO ‘Deore BL-M6100’ brake levers. The brake discs measure 203 mm at the front and 180 mm at the rear, guaranteeing reliable braking performance even on steep descents. Gear shifting is handled by the SHIMANO “Deore XT RD-M8100” with Shadow Plus technology and 12 speeds, whilst the shift levers are the SHIMANO “Deore SL-M6100” model.

The suspension is provided by the ROCKSHOX “Lyrik Select” fork with 150 mm of travel, combined with the ROCKSHOX “Deluxe Select +” shock, offering excellent suspension and damping performance for challenging trails. The drivetrain is completed by components such as the SHIMANO “BB-MT 500” bottom bracket and the SHIMANO “FC-MT510” crankset with 32 teeth, as well as the SHIMANO “CS-M6100” chainring with a range of 10–51 teeth.

The handlebars are CONWAY “Low Rizer” with a diameter of 35 mm and a width of 780 mm, fitted with CONWAY “Sport fix” grips. The stem measures 35 mm, and the headset consists of ZS44/ZS56 components. The RODI “Ready 30” rims are fitted with SCHWALBE tyres: the “Hans Dampf” (soft version) at the front and the “Nobby Nic EVO” with Spgrip at the rear, both in size 60-622.

The hubs are also from SHIMANO: the “HB-MT400” model at the front with 15 x 110 mm and the “FH-MT400” model at the rear with 12 x 148 mm, connected by stainless steel spokes. The saddle is a CONWAY “1489 sport light”, mounted on a CONTEC “Drop - A - Gogo” seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm, which provides additional adjustability.
