At Conway, WME stands for "We make Enduro" and comprises a frame platform that is available with 29-inch, 27.5-inch and plus tyres. We tested the Conway WME 727 in aluminium.

The one tested in this comparison Conway WME 727 has the longest suspension travel in the model range. An adjustment on the upper shock mount allows the rear triangle to be ridden with either 164 or a generous 172 millimetres of travel. The geometry remains virtually unaffected. We rode the bike in the long setup for more reserves. Compared to the Rockshox Yari RC, which was much less responsive, the potent rear suspension was always superior and provided a lot of composure in rough passages. With a steering angle of less than 65 degrees and a long wheelbase, the WME can also cope with high speeds without making the rider sweat. However, with the second-highest total weight and the heaviest frame in the test, there are lighter-footed bikes on the climbs. The extremely steep seat angle positions the rider far forwards, but the riding position is short as a result. The lightweight Conti tyres without protection are far too vulnerable.

Test summary of the Conway WME 727:

Mountain-orientated enduro bike with a powerful rear triangle. The heavy frame ensures a high overall weight.

The alternative: The 400 euro cheaper alternative comes with an SR Suntour Aion fork and Rockshox shock without reservoir.
