Conway MCL 4.7

The MCL 4.7 model from Conway, released in 2024, is a versatile bicycle that impresses with its well-thought-out features and solid build quality. The frame is made of aluminium and is specifically designed for women, with a frame size of 36 cm. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, whilst the bicycle itself weighs 15 kg.

The MCL 4.7’s braking system is fitted with TEKTRO hydraulic disc brakes – specifically the ‘HD-M275’ model – which features 160 mm brake discs at both the front and rear. Gear shifting is handled by a 24-speed SHIMANO “Acera” groupset, controlled via SHIMANO “SL-M315” shift levers. The front derailleur is a SHIMANO “Altus FD-M313”, which ensures reliable and precise shifting performance.

Riding comfort is provided by the RST “Gila ML” fork with 100 mm of travel. In terms of lighting, the bike is fitted with a HERRMANS “H-Black MR4” front light and a HERRMANS “H-Trace Mini” rear light, both powered by a SHIMANO “DH3D37” hub dynamo. The pedals are Welgo “C280DU” one-piece pedals, which ensure a secure connection between rider and bike.

Power is transmitted via a KMC “Z8” chain, whilst the crankset is a SHIMANO “FC-TY501” with 24/34/42-tooth chainrings and a length of 170 mm. The cassette is a SHIMANO “CS-HG31” with a range of 11–34 teeth. The handlebars are CONWAY risers with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a width of 720 mm, complemented by CONWAY “Sport” grips and a CONWAY stem with a length of 50 mm.

The wheelsets consist of CONWAY hollow-section rims and are fitted with IMPAC “Smartpac” tyres in size 54-584. The hubs are also from SHIMANO: the ‘DH3D37’ QR dynamo hub at the front and the ‘FH-TX505’ QR hub at the rear. The saddle is a SELLE ROYAL “Vivo Athletic Ergo”, mounted on a CONWAY patented seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length of 300 mm.

Additional features include SKS “Velo 65 Mountain” mudguards and a CONWAY alloy kickstand measuring 40 mm in length. The bike’s geometry is characterised by a top tube length of 550 mm, a seat tube angle of 74 degrees and a chainstay length of 435 mm. The price for this model is 749 EUR, making it an attractive option for female cyclists who value quality and functionality.
