Conway Cairon S 829

The "Cairon S 829" model from Conway, launched in 2021, is a high-quality e-bike that stands out for its technical features and performance. The price for this model is 3999 EUR. The frame is made of aluminium and is designed as a CONWAY Intube Bosch, which allows for seamless integration of the battery. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, which is indicative of its robust construction.

For the brakes, Conway has opted for the SHIMANO “Deore XT” system with BR-M8120 at the front and BR-M8100 at the rear, complemented by SHIMANO “Deore XT BL-M8100” brake levers. The brake discs measure 203 mm at the front and 180 mm at the rear, both of the SHIMANO “SM-RT70” type. The gear system is also from SHIMANO and utilises the “Deore XT RD-M8100” Shadow Plus system with 12 speeds, controlled by the “Deore XT SL-M8100” shifter.

The ROCKSHOX “35 Gold RL” fork, with 120 mm of travel, provides comfortable suspension on uneven terrain. The bike is fitted with VP “VPE-506” pedals and features a BOSCH bottom bracket. The crankset is by FSA, model “CK-745”, with a length of 170 mm and a 38-tooth chainring. The cassette is the SHIMANO “CS-M7100” with a range of 10 to 51 teeth, and the drivetrain uses the SHIMANO “CN-M6100” chain.

The handlebars are CONWAY risers with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a width of 720 mm, fitted with CONWAY “Sport fix” grips. The stem also has a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset consists of ZS44 / ZS56 components. The rims are CONWAY hollow-wall “X18” rims suitable for disc brakes, whilst the tyres are SCHWALBE “Nobby Nic” EVO, foldable and sized 65-622 at both the front and rear.

The bike uses SHIMANO hubs: the “HB-M7110” model at the front (15 x 110 mm) and the “FH-M7110 Micro Spline” model at the rear (12 x 148 mm). The spokes are made of stainless steel. The saddle is a SELLE ROYAL “Vivo Athletic Ergo”, whilst the seatpost is a CONWAY Patent with a diameter of 31.6 mm.

The Cairon S 829 is powered by a fourth-generation BOSCH mid-drive motor, the “Performance CX”, which operates at a voltage of 36 V and a power output of 250 W. The battery is a BOSCH PT lithium-ion model with a BMS, offering a capacity of 625 Wh and a voltage of 36 V at 16.66 Ah. The BOSCH “Kiox” display offers four assistance levels and a remote control, as well as a push assist function, which enhances ease of use.
