Conway Cairon S 4.0

The 2022 Conway Cairon S 4.0 is a modern e-bike that, at a price of 3,499 EUR, is positioned in the mid-range segment. It combines high-quality components with well-thought-out features, making it suitable for both everyday use and more demanding rides. At the heart of the bike is the fourth-generation BOSCH ‘Performance CX’ mid-drive motor, which delivers 36 V and 250 W of power. The motor is supported by a BOSCH “Powertube 625” lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 625 Wh, designed for extended rides. Control is via the BOSCH “Purion” display, which offers four assistance levels and a push-assist mode.

Reliable braking is provided by the TEKTRO “T-390” brakes, which are combined with the matching TEKTRO brake levers. At the front, the bike is fitted with a TEKTRO “TR180-17 2.3”” brake disc with a diameter of 180 mm, ensuring effective braking performance. Gear changes are handled by the SRAM “SX Eagle” 12-speed system, complemented by the “SX Eagle Trigger” shifter with single-click function. This combination enables precise and rapid gear changes.

The RST “Vibe” fork, with 110 mm of travel, ensures comfort on uneven terrain. The drivetrain is rounded off by the FSA “CK-745” crankset, 170 mm in length, and the SRAM “PG 1210 Eagle” cassette with a gear ratio of 11–50 teeth.

The Cairon S 4.0 is fitted with a CONWAY riser handlebar with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a width of 720 mm, which, together with the CONWAY “Sport” grips, ensures comfortable handling. The stem measures 90 mm with a diameter of 31.8 mm, and the headset is in the ZS44 / ZS56 format.

SCHWALBE “Tough Tom” tyres in size 60-584 have been chosen, mounted on RODI “Ready 30” rims. The hubs are from FORMULA: the “DC 511” model at the front, measuring 15 x 110 mm, and the “eHL-148 S” model at the rear, measuring 12 x 148 mm. The spokes are made of stainless steel.

Comfort is provided by the SELLE ROYAL “Vivo Athletic Ergo” saddle in combination with the CONWAY Patent seatpost, which has a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length of 350 mm. The VP “VPE-506” pedals complete the specification. Overall, the Conway Cairon S 4.0 is a robust and versatile e-bike, suitable for both everyday commuting and longer rides.
