The tedious battery change with eight (!) screws of the predecessor is now history. Ex works, the Pivot Shuttle with an impressive 726 watt hours. Those who place less value on the reach but want to keep the total weight under 22 kilos (manufacturer's specification) are in luck. This is because the Shuttle's battery holder can also accommodate the lighter 635 or 508 watt-hour battery. The Americans manufacture the frame from carbon fibre. The rear suspension squeezes 140 millimetres of travel out of the Fox DPX2 shock. A beefy 38 mm Fox Factory fork with 160 millimetres of travel works under the headset. The lift replacement also rolls on 29-inch wheels. The drive support is provided by Shimano's EP8 motor.
The geometry is sporty and modern: The relatively short 440 chainstays promise a pronounced playfulness, while the slack steering angle (64.3 degrees) should keep the bike safely on track. The reach measures 460 millimetres in size L.
The only catch: the high-end MTB with XTR equipment costs €11,599. Cheaper models? Not a chance.
