Vpace has expanded its Danny dirt bike series with a 26-inch model for taller children and teenagers. The new Danny26 is designed to fit riders over 1.60 metres tall. With a proven concept and adapted geometry, Vpace is targeting young bikers who are (or have become) too tall for the 24-inch model.

The basic concept of the Danny26 is based on its smaller sibling model Danny24 - and we already had this in our detailed BIKE test. Here too, Vpace relies on a robust aluminium frame with single-speed drive. The geometry has been adapted to the larger wheels and the target group. The Vpace Danny26 has a slightly longer reach and a slacker steering angle, which should promise a smoother ride at higher speeds.

Equipment for pump track and dirt jumps

When choosing components, Vpace relies on tried and tested parts that are designed to fulfil the requirements of the pump track and dirt jumps. The Manitou Junit Circus 26" suspension fork offers 100 millimetres of travel. It has air suspension with adjustable rebound and compression damping, which should enable precise adjustment to the rider's weight and the intended use. A special feature: the hydraulic disc brake from Shimano is only fitted to the rear wheel. According to the manufacturer, it is currently not possible to fit a front brake on the Danny26 due to the hub-fork combination.

Lightweight construction for more agility

Vpace has paid particular attention to keeping the overall weight as low as possible. By using lightweight components and butted aluminium tubes for the frame, the Danny26 should only be slightly heavier than the 24-inch model despite the larger wheels. The weight: 10.4 kilograms.

Area of application and target group

The Vpace Danny26 is primarily designed for use on pump tracks and in the dirt park. This is where it should be able to fully utilise its strengths in terms of agility and control. However, Vpace emphasises that the bike is also suitable for urban riding and easy trails. The main target group is teenagers and young adults who are looking for a specialised bike for these areas of use.

Availability and price

The Vpace Danny26 is now available for 1149 euros. The new dirt bike comes in the colours Ground Grey as well as Velvet Purple and Stealth Black with a matt finish.
