The new Bulls Machete for 2022 follows the trend towards ever more off-road capable and comfortable gravel bikes, which are getting ever closer to MTB hardtails. The carbon frame (four frame sizes) offers a variety of mounting options for bottle cages, bags, mudguards and a pannier rack. The angled seat stays are designed to ensure a high level of comfort on long distances and bikepacking tours. The cables disappear inside the frame via the headset and the frame offers space for tyres up to 50 millimetres wide. The most exciting of the three models is the Machete Trail for 3999 euros.
The trail model comes with a 100 millimetre dropper seatpost (Rockshox Reverb AXS), 50 millimetre wide Schwalbe G-One Ultrabite tyres and an MTB gear ratio. Bulls combines the Sram Rival eTap AXS levers with a GX Eagle AXS rear derailleur and an Eagle cassette with 10-52 teeth. The chain runs over a 38 tooth chainring on the Rival crank.
There are also two more classic Gravelbike-versions of the Machete. The entry-level model for 2399 euros is equipped with 1x11 Shimano GRX gears and 45 Schwalbe G-One R Evo tyres. The top model Machete AXS comes with the new Sram Force XPLR AXS drivetrain and Bulls' own comfort carbon seatpost. Price: 4699 euros.
