Consistently reduced to the essentials, the Brooklyn FAT from e-bike specialist Coboc stands for riding fun on an electric race through the urban jungle. As a tribute to its roots, the Heidelberg-based company has now given the most minimalist of its models an upgrade.
The Coboc Brooklyn FAT is now available in a total of three colour variants: in the Disco Purple colour scheme in the style of the 1980s, in timelessly elegant Cloud White and in the Legacy Edition with its own components in a cool raw finish.
What all three versions of the Coboc Brooklyn FAT have in common is the in-house CB02 e-bike drive system. The battery in the down tube of the new Brooklyn FAT urban bike is almost invisible - but delivers 360 watt hours of power and can be charged in 2.5 hours.
In typical Coboc fashion, only the discreet LEDs on the top tube hint at the E-Power inside. At first glance, you might mistake the CBC02 motor for an ordinary hub gear. The rear light is now integrated directly into the seat post and is just as discreet, but shines brightly in action, while a Supernova Mini 2 lamp lights the way at the front. The belt drive also ensures a clean urban look. Technically, this has advantages both in terms of ease of maintenance and because it is very quiet.
If you want to ride with ease on bad roads or even gravel tracks, you will be grateful for the voluminous Schwalbe G-One Speed tyres (50 mm, 2 inch width). These tyres simply iron out any bumps in the road surface. With a total weight of 13.5 kilograms, the Coboc Brooklyn FAT is a very light E-Singlespeeder, which is certainly also great to ride without an electric drive. Incidentally, the option of hybrid riding is characteristic of all models in Coboc's urban line.
The Heidelberg-based company has come up with some visual specials for the Coboc Brooklyn FAT Legacy in a raw finish. The model is fitted with high-quality Brooks components on the saddle and handlebars. In contrast to the other two models, the sidewalls of the Schwalbe tyres have a contrasting colour - we call it skinwall.
Thanks to the Coboc app for iOS and Android, the Brooklyn FAT is also smartly networked. The e-bike connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth, turning it into an on-board computer. The Coboc app can be used to fine-tune the response behaviour of the electric assistance and the motor power. This allows the entire riding dynamics to be configured according to individual preferences. The display in the app provides information about the mode, speed, distance travelled or battery level.
