The new Coboc Merano TPZ e-bike with sloping top tube presents itself as a true all-rounder. Many of the features tested in the MYBIKE test of the sister model Coboc Iseo Emerald The Merano TPZ trekking e-bike incorporates details that have already attracted positive attention.
Characteristic of Coboc, the 380 Wh battery and most of the cables disappear into the frame of the Merano TPZ. The new, in-house CBC01 motor in the rear wheel is also only recognisable at second glance. What's more, the Heidelberg e-bike specialist's motto is not only a tidy design, but also low weight. Despite being fully equipped, the Merano TPZ weighs just 15.6 kilos and can also be ridden well without electric assistance if necessary. The Sram GX 1x11 drivetrain makes its proven contribution to this.
Like the mudguards, the removable bag holder specially designed by Coboc hugs the line of the rear wheel. Speaking of luggage: longer trips often require more storage space. Thanks to the trailer mount developed by Coboc, a trailer can also be attached to the Merano TPZ, just like the men's version with a diamond frame. Yet another argument for using the e-trekking bike not only on everyday routes, but also for touring. Large-volume and profiled tyres from WTB ensure comfort, safety and grip. This means that the Coboc Merano rolls comfortably on tarmac, but also on gravel and forest paths.
The rear light of the Merano TPZ is elegantly integrated into the mudguard, while at the front the tiny Supernova front light merges with the stem.
The motor is discreetly activated via a button on the underside of the top tube. 5 LEDs on the top show the battery status and the selected riding mode.
The Coboc Electric Drive has a torque sensor that automatically and continuously provides the right level of assistance. Preferred individual riding profiles can be stored here via the Coboc app.
