The Yoonit Electric is a special case: despite its large front load volume, it fits into our test filter "1.80 metres overall length". The trick: extremely small wheels so that the cargo can be transported over the front wheel rather than behind it, without raising the centre of gravity too high. One disadvantage: extremely lively handling. The handling ensures that the bike is very manoeuvrable in the city, but a real tour is out of the question for many riders - despite the steering damper for the steering linkage, you are kept busy with corrections.
Unloaded, the little one is quite rear-heavy and likes to lift the front wheel up at the traffic lights. The powerful EP6 from Shimano helps here, providing a rather crisp grip right from the start without being too loud. The electric 5-speed Di2 drivetrain is not perfect for a lively cargo bike, but is still sufficient in terms of range and harmonises with the drivetrain.
With a bit of cargo, the Yoonit does achieve more balanced handling, but you still have to make corrections much more often than with the other bikes. The riding position is relaxed, rather upright and can be easily adjusted to different body sizes using the quick-release adjustment. From the rims to the belt drive, the cleanly crafted frame is sensibly equipped; the rear Magura with 18 mm disc even brakes with four pistons - as the rear wheel carries a lot of weight, this makes perfect sense.
However, we would have liked a little more power for the rather weak front light, and the low mounting point under the cargo grille does not provide convincing illumination. Three equipment variants offer a wide range of options for a broad customer base. Our Smart Carrier invites you to "pack up and go", the Business Carrier is more suitable for businesses (suppliers!) and tradesmen, and families will be happy with the new Family Up. Children like it curvy. At 5620 euros (Smart Carrier), you're not exactly travelling cheaply, but the fan community for the cute little truck shouldn't mind too much.
Powerful, fast and fun: the Yoonit is a fast, flexible little truck for those looking for corners, but it can take more than expected.
