The AirMach Electric Mini Inflator from Muc-Off is a mini rechargeable air pump for jersey or top tube bags. The new Pro version now comes with an LED display. Including silicone cover and extension hose, the mini compressor weighs 156 grams. The three push-buttons can be operated without instructions, and the thumbnail-sized display can be switched between bar and PSI. After switching on, you can preset the desired tyre pressure to the nearest tenth using the plus or minus button, which is practical. In our standard test, the Muc-Off pumped six 28-millimetre-wide tyres to four bar within 50 seconds each with one battery charge. That's a good result. Although the valve becomes 50 degrees hot, the hand holding the tyre is not unduly affected thanks to the silicone cover and pump hose. After 40 minutes of charging, the battery is full again; in this state, the compact compressor could inflate a tyre to a maximum of 7.5 bar.

Silca has developed a sealant for tubeless tyres with a revised formula. The Ultimate Sealant combines natural latex with synthetic latex. The modified composition is intended to extend the shelf life to six months. In addition, the length of the carbon fibres has been changed to make handling easier and cleaner. The sealant is designed to seal holes up to six millimetres in size.
The new S-Phyre XC903 from Shimano is aimed at gravel riders looking for a lightweight shoe for racing. The model combines a breathable synthetic leather upper with a carbon fibre composite sole. In size 43, the S-Phyre weighs 327 grams (including cleats); two Boa Li2 twist fasteners are used for precise adjustment to the foot, the lower one operates the flat lacing at the forefoot. The heel cap is designed to ensure the optimum position of the foot when full power is applied and high pedalling frequencies are used. The XC903 is indeed a convincing shoe for sport. The sole of the racing pedal is stiff as a rock, the heel cap almost sticks to the foot. When walking, the sole provides very good grip on soft ground, but is just as grippy on stone. The toe cap and all-round rubber coating complete the good protection; the cleats are positioned in the sole so that they can be easily clicked in and out. The shoe is available in two widths and in white, black and camouflage in addition to the beguiling blue colour.
Triple2 has a new pair of cycling shorts for women in its programme, which could appeal to cyclists on long, very long and gravel routes. They go by the monstrous name of Snell Ocean Light Long Distance Cargo Bib Shorts. Our tester, who prefers shorts with firm padding (or no padding at all), praised the long-distance comfort of the padding from seat expert SQlab as well as the clever design for peeing stops. Pockets on the sides allow you to store your smartphone, action cam and more safely and quickly.
Wera is known for high quality tools, and the 17-piece bicycle tool in the soft pouch packs this quality into a transportable set for travelling. At 298 grams in a 14 x 10 x 3 centimetre case, it may be just too big or too heavy for a jersey pocket and would be better placed in a top tube or spacious saddle bag. Clearly organised, the tool bag contains a small ratchet (1/4 inch) with extension, ten bits (PH2, Torx 10 and 25, hexagon socket 2/2.5/3-6 and 8) as well as a hand holder, chain tool and chain holder.
Wahoo has revised its popular Elemnt Roam and Elemnt Bolt navigation devices and introduced their third generation, which now also fits in visually with the line that the latest and largest Elemnt Ace has set. Among other things, charging times and the user interface have been revised. The Bolt remains the small, compact model (83 x 47 millimetres), which is only operated via the crisp, responsive buttons; the Roam fills the middle (96 x 53 millimetres) and, like the top model Ace, offers a touch-sensitive display plus buttons.
Lupine declares the SL Grano as a headlight for fast rides on road or gravel bikes. From the robust aluminium housing, which is CNC-milled from a single piece, Osram LEDs cast up to 900 lumens of bright light onto the gravel path at night, with StVZO approval. In addition to manual control, a brightness sensor can automatically switch between daytime running light and glare-free dipped beam. The SL Grano has a total of up to five light levels, and two status LEDs indicate the selected light level and battery status with their respective colours. Thanks to the GoPro mount integrated into the housing, the headlight can be mounted under the bike computer without any fiddling. Lupine specifies a light duration of twelve hours with daytime running light and 1:45 hours with low beam.
Shimano's new S-Phyre 2 Ridescape GR cycling glasses are high-quality and innovative: the visor is held in place on the frame by two small magnets integrated into the lens; this makes it easy to replace with a little pressure and it finds its place automatically. This works much smarter than with many competitor products, whose lenses have to be changed by bending, tilting or with the help of small hinges. Nevertheless, the lens sits securely in the frame and we had no problems with unintentional loosening during the test. Unfortunately, replacing the nose bridge remains extremely fiddly. The Shimano lenses with Ridescape technology are available in three versions for predominantly off-road use (OR), gravel biking (GR) or on the road (RD). Their tint, contrast and light transmission are designed to meet the different requirements. We found the gravel lenses we tested to be high-contrast and slightly brightening. The fit and field of vision of the glasses are excellent. However, at a price of 190 euros, the 29 gram S-Phyre 2 is probably the most expensive pair of cycling glasses in Shimano's history.
Clean Blitz! Gravel bikes are tough, but good care is still important. Two recommended special cleaners from the latest TOUR and BIKE testThe Sonax bike cleaner scores with its high grease dissolving power; it is very gentle on materials, the slim bottle is easy to handle and the liquid is easy to dose.
The F100 bicycle cleaner from Dr Wack performs even better. The cleaner removes dirt from the bike quickly and completely and is very gentle on surfaces of all kinds.
