Woom is expanding its range of children's bikes and helmets with revised versions of two bestsellers. The new generation of woom GO children's bikes includes four models for children aged 1.5 to 8 years. The range extends from the woom GO 1 balance bike to the 20-inch woom GO 4 bike with gears. At the same time, the Austrian manufacturer is presenting a new edition of its Ready children's helmet, which is now available in three sizes for children aged 1 to 14. According to woom, both product lines have been optimised in numerous details to increase comfort, safety and riding fun. Particular attention was paid to adapting the helmets to the specific needs of the different age groups.
The development of the woom GO children's bikes focussed on improving the riding characteristics. The woom engineers have revised the frame geometry to enable an even more upright riding position. According to the manufacturer, this should ensure safer and more intuitive handling, especially for beginners. The saddles and grips have also been ergonomically optimised. The age-appropriate saddles are designed to increase comfort, while the grips now have a narrower diameter. A special comfort zone on the grips is aimed at enabling fatigue-free gripping.
woom has also thought about practical everyday details when developing the new GO series. For example, the models in sizes 1 and 1 Plus have a textured handle on the wheel saddle to make it easier to carry the bike. In sizes 2 to 4, ABC markings have been introduced to allow the saddle and handlebars to be optimally adjusted to the growing child. The largest model, the woom GO 4, is equipped with a smooth-running twist grip gear. This has an age-appropriate gear indicator to make it easier to learn how to change gears.
The woom GO children's bike series retains proven safety features and adds new ones. The familiar elements include the large-diameter handle ends to protect against injuries and tyres with good grip. The green lever for the rear brake is designed to help with learning.
A new feature is a flexible steering lock limiter for sizes 1 to 3, which is designed to prevent falls. The woom GO 4 is equipped with BMX handlebars for the first time, making it compatible with the POP children's bike basket. With their extensive safety features, the new children's bikes from woom are the ideal companion when the kids want to - or should - go out on their own.
The revised Ready children's bike helmet from woom was developed with an optimum fit in mind. Each of the three sizes has its own age-appropriate moulded inner shell. According to the manufacturer, this should ensure a perfect fit on children's heads of all ages. The developers analysed thousands of scans of children's heads to optimise the fit. A new size adjustment system with a robust dial allows for customised adjustment.
woom has a new Ready helmet The safety features have also been extended. The inner shell has been designed to relieve the sensitive large fontanel in younger children and the cranial suture in older children. An energy-absorbing peak is designed to protect against sun, rain and injuries to the face. Reflective elements have been added to both sides, the cords and the swivel wheel to improve visibility. An LED rear light is available as an option. The magnetic fastener has been redesigned and should now be even easier to open without pinching the skin.
