The Canadian bike manufacturer Norco has issued a recall for certain models of its e-mountainbike "Sight VLT CX" from the 2025 model year. The reason for this is a potential safety risk caused by a rear brake insert that may come loose. In an official statement, the company calls on all owners to stop using the bike immediately. Norco emphasises that this action is being taken as a precautionary measure while the company continues to investigate the issue and gather additional data. Norco's engineering and technical teams are currently working to determine the exact cause of the problem and develop a solution.
The Norco Sight VLT CX is an e-mountainbike. Norco has not communicated the exact number of bikes affected by the recall. Nor is there any information yet on whether accidents or injuries have already occurred in connection with the problem identified. The recall only affects models from model year 2025; according to current knowledge, earlier versions of the Sight VLT CX are not affected.
Norco has announced that it will publish information on how to proceed as soon as the investigations have been completed and a solution has been found.
