Very few mountain bikers will spend 10,000 euros on a bike. We are aware of that. And yet everyone is interested in how such bikes, which cost as much as a small car, ride. Why do we get excited about the high-end segment when it is so unattainable? The answer is obvious: the most modern technologies and latest trends are always found first in the most expensive MTB models before the manufacturers transfer them to affordable models and price categories.
We therefore ordered two test bikes from the upper end of the price list to check where the journey will take us in the future. In BIKE 1/21 we have the Specialized Stumpjumper S-Works (9999 Euro) and the Stoll T2 (10190 Euro) against each other in a decadent duel. You can download the test duel as a PDF below.
We can already reveal this much at this point: The bikes ride sensationally well. You can find out which bike wins the direct comparison and which path the industry will take in the all-mountain segment in BIKE 1/21 - in stores on 1 December. If you are still hesitating to head to the newsagent, you can get a first impression from our picture gallery with details of the two luxury bikes.
Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them, namely tens of thousands of euros every year.
