All mountain with enduro ambitions: Santa Cruz Bronson
At a measured 153 millimetres, the latest Santa Cruz Bronson offers only five millimetres less travel than the Enduro Megatower, but has a slacker steering angle and a longer wheelbase.

Santa Cruz undoubtedly doesn't make it easy for its customers. At least if you are interested in suspension travel between 145 and 160 millimetres. In the already small gap between Hightower and Megatower with 29er wheels, the new Bronson is now also squeezed into the wheel mix. Malicious tongues even claim that Santa Cruz only has one frame with different model names and colours on it, that's how similar the bikes look.

With a measured 153 millimetres, the latest member of the model range offers just five millimetres less travel than the Enduro Megatower, but has a slacker steering angle and a longer wheelbase. Despite the 27.5 mm rear wheel, the chainstays measure a generous 440 millimetres. Compared to its predecessor, the wheelbase has increased by an impressive 36 millimetres and the chainstays by nine millimetres. The former, playful border crosser, which mastered both All Mountain and Enduro, is now much more strongly drawn to the Enduro camp.

Find out whether the new 2022 Santa Cruz Bronson has more All Mountain or Enduro in its blood in the test from BIKE 9/2021, which you can easily download as a PDF below.

The test costs 0.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them, hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
