Canyon Bicycles is sending a clear signal for the future of e-mobility with the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Canyon E-Bike World in Koblenz. The company is investing in a new e-bike store, which will be located directly next to the new Canyon Headquarters marks another milestone in the history of the direct-to-consumer pioneer.
Over three floors and a total area of 1,200 square metres, a place that redefines the customer experience in the e-bike segment is to be created from spring 2026. In addition to spacious exhibition and sales areas, areas for bike assembly, staff rooms and storage facilities are also planned. The centrepiece of the new Canyon Campus is the e-bike store with space for around 800 e-bikes. Here, interested parties will have the opportunity to extensively test Canyon's entire range of e-bikes and purchase them directly.
The Canyon Campus goes far beyond a mere salesroom. A specially designed test track will make it possible to test the e-bikes under real-life conditions. Spacious green areas will also create a harmonious link between the new building and the existing headquarters. The entire site will be barrier-free to ensure easy access for all visitors. A new customer car park with e-charging stations is planned for those arriving by car, underlining the consistent focus on electromobility.
With the construction of the e-bike store, Canyon is continuing its strategy of combining its digital strength as a direct-to-consumer brand with a physical presence. The brand recently opened a store in Munich. While online sales remain centralised, the new store in Koblenz enables a real cycling experience and a personal connection between the brand and customers. Canyon is thus responding to the desire of many customers to be able to try out bikes before they buy.
Canyon is relying on proven partners for the realisation of the project. The construction and service company Goldbeck, which has already built warehouses and a car park deck for Canyon, will also construct the new e-bike store. The systematised construction method with prefabricated elements will be used, which stands for speed, efficiency and high quality.
SHA Scheffler Helbich Architekten is responsible for all planning services. The firm is contributing its extensive experience from over 30 realised projects in the bicycle retail sector. The combination of functional planning, design standards and a deep understanding of the industry is intended to give the new Canyon e-bike store a striking architecture.
Roman Arnold, founder of Canyon Bicycles, sees the project as more than just a new building: "By building the Canyon E-Bike Store, we are sending out a strong signal: for our origins, our future and our ambition to redefine the customer experience in the e-bike sector," he explains.
