The Topeak Joeblow Sport is the absolute all-round classic in the Topeak range - often tested and frequently awarded. We have made an exception for this test and included the Joeblow Sport with digital pressure gauge in our selection.
At a price of 69.95 euros, it is actually 10 euros above our limit, but the digital pressure gauge caught our interest because it is not only much easier to read than an analogue pressure gauge, it also displays the air pressure more precisely and to two decimal places.
For just under 70 euros, Topeak delivers solid technology and high-quality workmanship. The base, cylinder and piston are made of steel and are firmly connected to each other. The handle is lightly rubberised and the twinhead pump head looks as if it has been cast from a single mould. As a little treat, Topeak provides a ball needle and mattress adapter, but could definitely add a little more length to the hose.

The Topeak JoeBlow Sport has been one of the most popular floor pumps on the market for years - and the test quickly shows why. The pump has a very high-quality appearance, is made of cleanly processed materials and has no sharp edges. Top: the pleasantly rubberised, ergonomically shaped handle.
The base is not particularly wide, but offers a surprising amount of stability. The pump is torsion-resistant and gives a very controlled feel when pumping.
The JoeBlow Sport is designed for control and durability rather than maximum volume. This means that the pump volume per stroke is moderate and you need slightly more strokes than with large volume pumps. The manual forces are also slightly higher, but not unpleasant. The overall pumping feel is very solid and consistent.
The slightly raised pressure gauge improves readability. The digital version was used in the test - and it is a real highlight: excellent readability, illuminated and equipped with a display in PSI, bar and kPa. The measurement deviation of only approx. 0.05 bar is excellent. This makes the digital pressure gauge one of the best in the test field.
The hose is slightly shorter than that of many competitors, but is neatly angled to the pump and therefore doesn't dangle around annoyingly. The length is also sufficient for most bikes.
The TwinHead pump head is a real quality feature from Topeak and is manufactured to an extremely high standard. The long pump head sits comfortably in the hand, is easy to fit and closes cleanly and absolutely tightly. No air is lost when it is removed. It is one of the most reliable and comfortable valve heads in the test field.

The Topeak JoeBlow Sport remains a top all-rounder with hardly any weaknesses. High-quality workmanship, an excellent valve head and - in the digital version - one of the best pressure gauges in the test make it a clear recommendation. Small compromises in the hose and pump volume make little difference.
