The Kickr Bike Pro builds on the success of its predecessor (1st generation of the Kickr bike tested by our sister magazine TOUR) and offers several improvements for an even more realistic driving experience.

According to Wahoo, newly designed gear levers are intended to enable more natural and responsive operation. They were inspired by modern trends in virtual cycling and allow easy access to in-app functions on various training platforms without having to take your hands off the handlebars.

The premium touchpoints with the Fizik Aliante R5 saddle and the Fizik Solocush handlebar tape are designed to provide more comfort during longer training sessions. The ergonomic handlebars specially developed for indoor riding complete the package.

The integrated five-point seat position system allows for customised ergonomics, while the virtual gearstick offers customisable gear changes to simulate real-world riding.

The Kickr Bike Pro also has an integrated incline simulation, a precision flywheel with motor and downhill simulation and Kickr Race Mode for fast response to power inputs.

Kickr Core 2 with WiFi and easier installation

The Kickr Core 2 is receiving its first update in seven years and comes with several new functions. The newly added WiFi connectivity should ensure a more stable connection to smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices and enable faster data transfer than with Bluetooth and ANT+.

The revised leg design with a flatter contour is intended to ensure a faster and more stable setup and has an integrated installation guide. The new Kickr Race mode ensures an almost immediate response to power inputs.

Another new feature is the Kickr Bridge function, which makes it possible to transfer data from heart rate monitors directly to apps via the trainer. This turns the Kickr Core 2 into a central sensor gateway and is designed to simplify set-up. Multi-coloured LEDs indicate the status of connectivity, readiness and diagnostics.

The Kickr Core 2 is available with various shifting options, either with Zwift Cog & Click or an 11-speed cassette as standard. It will also be available with Zwift Ride.

Compatibility and availability

Both new Wahoo products are designed to work with numerous training and community platforms. These include Wahoo ystm, MyWhoosh, Rouvy, TrainingPeaks Virtual and Zwift. This versatility should allow users to choose their favourite training environment and connect seamlessly with the Wahoo devices.

"We are incredibly proud to be working with the new Kickr Bike Pro and the Kickr Core 2 to introduce the latest evolution of our indoor training ecosystem. Each product reflects our relentless commitment to innovation, driving performance and precision to new heights," explains Gareth Joyce, CEO of Wahoo, adding: "We are delighted to be working with partners such as Fizik and Zwift, whose world-class products continue to enhance the riding experience for our customers and athletes. At Wahoo, we are committed to nurturing the better athlete in each of us, and this new product range is another step forward in fulfilling that commitment." Both products will be available in stores immediately.
