If you are not put off by the exorbitant price and the short suspension travel, the Pivot Trail 429 is an extremely versatile and light trail bike.

The somewhat outdated Trail 429 has for the 2021 season has undergone a drastic cosmetic surgery: The shock is no longer positioned horizontally under the top tube, but vertically in the frame triangle. From the outside, the newcomer doesn't look anything like its predecessor, but it can't deny its shared DNA. With 120 millimetres of travel at the rear, 130-140 millimetres at the front and 29-inch wheels with grippy tyres, the 429 meets the requirements of a trail bike to a tee.

You can download the complete test with all riding impressions and laboratory values from BIKE 6/2021 as a PDF below the article.

The test costs 0.99 euros. Why not free of charge? Because quality journalism has a price. In return, we guarantee independence and objectivity. This applies in particular to the tests in BIKE. We don't pay for them, but the opposite is the case: we charge for them, hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
