New high-end trail bike for women
It was only at the beginning of August that Liv surprised us with a completely new version of the Intrigue 29, and now the women's bike manufacturer is following it up with a high-end carbon version of the trail bike.

With the launch of the new Intrigue Advanced Pro, Liv's women's full suspension bike will not only be available as a All Mountain with 27.5-inch wheels and 150/140 mm travel, but also as a trail bike with 29-inch wheels and 140/125 millimetres of travel. Liv is launching the new 29 model in two aluminium versions (top model 3899 euros) and now new: in two carbon versions (top model: 7999 euros), each in sizes S, M and L.

  • 27.5 inch with 150/140 mm travel: 3 models from 2000 euros
  • 29 inch in aluminium: two models from 3000 euros
  • 29-inch in carbon (Advanced Pro): two models from 5000 euros

The Intrigue is also available as an E-MTB

With the expansion of the Intrigue range, the women's bike manufacturer from Giant is hoping for a similar success as with the roughly comparable Giant Trance X. The unisex trail bike is the brand's bestseller. There is also the Intrigue also available as an E-MTB version with the SyncDrive motor from Yamaha.

However, unlike other bike manufacturers, it is not the case that the same frame is used here and only fitted with women-specific parts. Like all Liv brand bikes, the Intrigue is designed specifically for female proportions and riding styles. Up to now, the main focus has been on manoeuvrability, easy handling and frame sizes from XS upwards - which was particularly suitable for small female riders and beginners. But with the new Intrigue 29, Liv is now opening the door to more advanced riders: 29er wheels that fit tyres up to 2.5 inches wide, a long reach of 430 millimetres, a significantly slacker head angle of 65.8 degrees, longer chainstays (438 mm) and less suspension travel, which should make the trail bike much smoother on long climbs and fast descents. However, it will require more physical effort on winding trails. Depending on the terrain on which you are riding the bike, the geometry can also be adjusted for the first time by Liv using a flipchip. Overall, Liv promises an even more central riding position with this geometry and the tried-and-tested Maestro rear triangle has also been adjusted for women's weights. However, very small riders will have to do without the Intrigue 29er version, as no XS version was possible with this geometry.

A first ride review of the Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro 29 will soon be available in BIKE.
