The Canyon Neuron is one of the most popular and versatile trail bikes on the market. Now the top seller is getting a fresh equipment update for the trails. Aluminium bikes are available from 1999, carbon fullys from 3099 euros.

Tried and tested with a new coat of paint

Basically, not much will change in Neuron, which was only completely renovated in 2023. Why unnecessarily tinker with a platform that has been diligently collecting test wins? The innovations are in the details, or rather in the equipment, and do not affect the frame or geometry. The Neuron therefore continues to rely on 140 millimetres of travel at the front and 130 millimetres at the rear. This results in a 66 degree head angle and a climbing-friendly seat angle of 76 degrees.

New equipment: models & price Canyon Neuron

The new Neuron family consists of four carbon models - from the top model Neuron CF LTD to the CF 9, CF 8 and CF 7 - as well as two aluminium models. Canyon has thus added an additional carbon model to its range and removed one of the previous three aluminium models. The carbon models range in price from 3099 to 6299 euros. The aluminium models are available for €1999 and €2499 respectively. By reducing the aluminium models, Canyon is avoiding a price overlap in the model range.

The Neuron CF LTD now has a Fox 34 fork with 140 millimetres of travel and the new GripX2 damping cartridge. It is also equipped with the wireless XX Eagle Transmission AXS drivetrain from Sram. The DT Swiss wheels have been updated, with the XMC 1200 set being replaced by the XMC 1501 set with carbon rims and ratchet freehub.

Another new feature is the SP60 Iridium Vario seatpost from Canyon, which offers more adjustment range: 200 millimetres (L/XL), 170 millimetres (S-M) or 150 millimetres (XS). The CF LTD is now available in a glossy grey/black combination with reflective accents at a price of 6299 euros.

Canyon Neuron CF 9: 4999 euros

The Neuron CF 9 now also comes with the GripX2 shock in the Fox 34 fork and is equipped with Sram's X0 Eagle Transmission AXS drivetrain. Added to this are the Code Silver Stealth four-piston brakes, also from Sram. The wheels have also been updated - the XCM 1700 combine lightweight carbon rims for all-mountain use with reliable hubs and a toothed disc freehub. The CF 9 is available in Slate Silver or Breeze Blue for 4999 euros.

Canyon Neuron CF 8: 3999 euros

The biggest innovation on the CF 8 is the gear system. Instead of a mechanical Shimano drivetrain from the Predecessor model now comes with a wireless Sram GX AXS Eagle drivetrain. The CF 8 is braked with a Sram Code Bronze Stealth. This is joined by a Rockshox Pike Select+ suspension fork with 140 millimetres of travel and a Rockshox Deluxe Select+ shock. The DT Swiss XM 1700 aluminium wheels are also new. Price 3999 euros.

Canyon Neuron CF 7: 3099 Euro

The CF 7 offers excellent value for money and is equipped with a Shimano Deore shifting and braking system. Robust and reliable. It also comes with M 1900 aluminium wheels from DT Swiss. Price: 3099 euros.

They are also equipped with Canyon dropper posts, have a Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.40 Super Ground Addix Speedgrip tyre at the front and a Wicked Will 2.40 tyre at the rear, as well as a Raceface cockpit.

Canyon Neuron AL 6 & AL 5: from 1999 euros

The Neuron AL models present themselves in new splendour. The AL 6 is equipped with a Fox 34 Rhythm fork, Shimano Deore gears and brakes as well as DT Swiss LN AM aluminium wheels. It is available in Vanilla, Swamp or Lavender. The Neuron AL 5 features the new Shimano Cues 1x11 drivetrain and is available in the colours Chestnut, Swamp or Lavender. The price for the AL 6 is 2499 euros and for the AL 5 1999 euros.
