An E-Fully that feels like a conventional trail bike? That should be the characteristic of the new Sign-E Carbon from BIXS. The latest addition to the Swiss bike manufacturer's range weighs less than 20 kilograms in all three versions. The lightweight bike is powered by an 85 Nm Shimano motor.

BIXS claims that the Sign-E Carbon is the most intuitive e-bike they have ever developed. The low weight should benefit the handling and make descents fun on the one hand, while at the same time tackling steep uphill sections as if you had superpowers on your MTB thanks to the Shimano EP8 motor. Great promises, but what about the features in detail?

BIXS Sign-E Carbon: Flat steering angle and playful handling

The modern trail geometry with a steep seat and flat steering angle ensures a central riding position and should enable an agile, precise riding style on steep uphills and fast downhills, the manufacturer promises. The carbon frame of the BIXS Sign-E combines lightness and maximum stiffness.

Short chainstays in combination with a weight from 18.6 kilograms enable playful, intuitive handling which, according to BIXS, is comparable to that of a normal trail bike.

Adaptable Shimano motor at the heart of the Sign-E

The Shimano EP 801 drive unit offers powerful support with 85 Nm of torque and is the centrepiece of the new Sign-E E-MTB thanks to its intuitive controllability. Its range can be increased by 388 watt hours with the optional range extender. The BIXS Sign-E therefore has a total capacity of 788 watt hours.

To customise the Sign-E from BIXS to your own needs, you can choose between two riding profiles. Profile 1 offers the familiar Eco, Trail and Boost levels. In profile 2, the support can be fine-tuned in up to 15 levels. The aim is to achieve the optimum balance of performance and range with the Shimano e-bike motor.
