Touring and trekking bikes account for the largest share (58%), closely followed by e-bikes and pedelecs (43%). 21 per cent of survey participants stated that they owned a mountain bike, 21 per cent a racing bike and 14 per cent a gravel bike.
MYBIKE readers would spend an average of 3953 euros on a new e-bike. For a new touring bike, the average would be 2550 euros.
85 per cent travelled by bike in Germany in 2021. Baden-Württemberg is in the lead with 42 per cent, closely followed by Bavaria (35%) and North Rhine-Westphalia (21%).
If you don't cycle in Germany, you usually cycle on holiday in neighbouring countries.
62 percent of MYBIKE readers go on a cycling holiday with their partner, 34 percent with friends, 21 percent alone and 18 percent with their family.

In our survey, we also asked whether a Bicycle insurance is available. 37 per cent of participants stated that they had taken out insurance for their bicycle, 12 per cent did not yet have insurance but wanted to do so. 51 per cent have not insured their bicycle and do not intend to insure their bicycle or bicycles.
