According to the new Bike Addict Gravel Scott is also stepping up its game with accessories for the growing gravel road bike segment. With their new gravel bike shoe, the Swiss company has not only combined the best features of road and mountain bike shoes, but also developed them further. The Gravel Pro is designed to be as light as a road bike shoe and as durable and robust as a mountain bike shoe. What's more, the new bike shoe from Scott be comfortable enough for long bikepacking adventures and offer enough traction to tackle even the roughest terrain.
Suitable for as many situations as possible on tarmac and off-road, just like a gravel bike. But this is no easy endeavour. In the biking vernacular, efficiency and comfort are seen as opposites. More comfort means less efficiency and vice versa. Scott wants to counter this with a stiff carbon insole and a more flexible outsole. A profile made of rubber studs is intended to provide grip when running. The whole thing is held together by a Boa twist lock. This type of fastening has also scored highly in the past with good tension distribution when lacing.
Scott was not the first to come up with the gravel shoe. Shimano, Adidas and other cycling shoe manufacturers have already developed specific gravel shoes. Gravel bike shoes brought out. At 140 euros Scotts Gravel Pro (340 grams) are in the mid-range of the price spectrum. A version with a stiffer sole is also available for 180 euros. The Gravel Tuned is intended for performance-orientated gravel bikers and is 20 grams lighter. The shoes are available in sizes 40-48.
Scott's new shoe fits in perfectly with the current gravel boom. Scott itself is aware that the combination of comfort and stiffness is already available in many MTB touring shoes.
