The 2027 Crankworx World Tour kicks off in February in New Zealand, then winds its way through the Canadian summer and concludes with the final in Mont-Sainte-Anne. The calendar is out.

Six stops, two continents: the organisers have announced the dates for the 2027 Crankworx World Tour. It kicks off in February with two festivals in New Zealand. The tour then moves on to Canada, where it will remain until well into August. The finale takes place in Mont-Sainte-Anne. The tour concludes with the Crankworx Summer Series in Sugarloaf, New Brunswick.

An overview of the dates for 2027

  • Crankworx Christchurch: 18 to 21 February
  • Crankworx Rotorua: 10 to 14 March
  • Crankworx Whistler: 16 to 25 July
  • Crankworx SilverStar: 29 July to 1 August
  • Crankworx Mont-Sainte-Anne: 11 to 15 August
  • Crankworx Summer Series Sugarloaf: 26 to 29 August

A look back: A season full of firsts 2026 was a year of firsts for Crankworx. The inaugural Slopestyle Super League (SSL) gave the sport of slopestyle a new structure. The highlight was the first SSL World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne. The organisers describe it as perhaps the most exciting competition the discipline has seen in recent times.

There was also history made in the overall standings. Ryan Gilchrist claimed the title of King of Crankworx for the third year running – a feat no one had ever achieved before. In the women’s competition, Jordy Scott defended her title as Queen of Crankworx, winning for the second year in a row.

Mont-Sainte-Anne featured in the Tour for the first time in 2026 and immediately became the venue for the final. It was a successful debut: more than 30,000 fans turned out, and over 650 athletes competed in various categories and disciplines. They partied all night long on one of mountain biking’s most iconic stages. Away from the course, the ‘Crankworx Unfiltered’ series showed what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes just to make it to the start line. The stops in detail

  • New Zealand (Christchurch and Rotorua): As in previous years, the season kicks off in Aotearoa. Registration for athletes is now open, and some categories are already fully booked. Anyone wishing to take part should hurry.
  • Whistler: Crankworx is returning to its birthplace. The festival is regarded as the mountain bike industry’s annual get-together, featuring world-class races, community events and its infamous parties.
  • SilverStar: The festival follows on straight after Whistler. So anyone who wants to can easily stay in British Columbia a bit longer and make the most of the bike park. SilverStar is just a small village, but it has hosted the world’s best riders on several occasions and offers a genuine Crankworx atmosphere.
  • Mont-Sainte-Anne: Following a successful debut, the series enters its second year, once again culminating in the World Tour final. Fans and riders are set to bring the venue in Québec to life once more.
  • Sugarloaf: The Summer Series is now in its fourth year at Atlantic Canada’s first lift-served bike park. It is regarded as one of the most iconic events on the mountain biking calendar. The event has grown steadily and serves as a playground for local riders and international professionals.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
