Kilian Bron in his web video "Dolomites".
When it's getting uncomfortable outside, the couch and the telly come to the rescue. Three new bike films in a quick check. Plus three "must watch" mini-clips.

Topics in this article

There are many action clips out there, but which ones are worth watching? We have watched and rated three current web videos. Frenchman Kilian Bron dedicates his latest film to the Dolomites. The original downhiller Greg Minnaar has made a short documentary about his life as a racer to mark the end of his World Cup career, and the elaborate film by Anthill Films shows breathtaking landscapes mixed with hard-hitting action.

Dolomites: Kilian Bron

Instead of full-throttle action in fast cuts, Kilian Bron has chosen a different format for his film this time. The Frenchman is once again drawn to the Dolomites, where he caused a furore years ago with an almost unbelievable clip. The action is again incredible, but this time there is a whole story with historical backgrounds, people and emotions. Kilian introduces his team and explains why he is so fascinated by the Dolomites. Absolutely worth seeing!

Not done yet: Greg Minnaar

The Eurosport documentary is dedicated to "The GOAT" (Greatest of all Times), as Greg Minnaar (42) is mentioned in the scene. The South African has been racing in Downhill World Cups since 2001. The documentary is very American. Many voices from his environment, too much adulation. The film could have shed light on Greg's rough edges, which should exist. The dramatisation is based more on the defeats and successes in the Downhill World Cup and the World Championships. Duration: 45 minutes. Conclusion: More for die-hard Minnaar fans.

Anytime

The latest film from cult film studio Anthill. An hour of action, epic landscapes and creative lines. Super: the appearance of Thomas Genon in Mexico. High-quality production and a top-class cast. Including Brage Vestavik, Brett Rheeder, Patricia Druwen and co. The eternal attempt by the athletes to describe what mountain biking means to them serves as a common thread. That's nice, that's nice, but it has a beard - at least we think so.

Youtube mini-clips that every biker should know

1st Brage Vestavik's X Games Real Edit (2021)

In the X Games Real video competition, selected professional bikers are allowed to send in a 1:30 minute clip. The one by Norwegian Brage Vestavik stood out because it is spectacular, brute, creative and a little dark. The video shows Brage's interpretation of freeride, superbly staged. The community had never seen anything like it. Brage won the audience award.

2. Danny MacAskill's Wee Day Out

The clip went online in October 2016 and is still up-to-date. The 6-minute clip has since been clicked on over 43 million times. In "Wee Day Out", Danny doesn't sit on his trial bike, but on a fully, showing what is possible in a playful way. Instead of monster jumps, the Scotsman shines with funny trail moves that only Danny can pull off. Absolutely worth seeing.

3rd Brandon Semenuk in Raaw V6

The Canadian is considered the most stylish biker on the planet and a multi-talent. Because Brandon can not only bike (he just won the Red Bull Rampage in Utah), but he can also BMX, skateboard and rally drive. In his Raaw 100 clip series, he does without soundtracks. Instead of music, you can hear the braap of the tyres and the whirring of the freewheel. No biker makes complex tricks look as effortless as Brandon. See for yourself.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
