Everyone at the club is still a little dizzy from the elation of victory and promotion. However, Holstein Kiel's sporting preparations for the club's very first season in the Bundesliga are already in full swing - as the first football club in Schleswig-Holstein, mind you. After the test match is before the training camp - old football wisdom. With so much sporting vigour, regeneration and active recovery must not be neglected off the pitch - and that is exactly why KSV Holstein now has training bikes.
A total of 15 bikes have now been handed over to the first team, sponsored by premium manufacturer Corratec from Raubling in Bavaria. 13 Corratec hardtails from the Revolution Bow Series and 2 gravel bikes from the Allroad C Ekar range are now available to the athletics team as team equipment to use as fitness and training equipment for the professional players. Carbon and fitness go together perfectly. There are also plans to use them for rehabilitation purposes or after injury-related breaks, confirms athletics trainer Lasse Bork: "After a match day, the bikes help us to diversify our regeneration programme. And in the rehab area, they strengthen stamina and fitness, providing great training stimuli."
But what is it that is driving Corratec, a family-run company with a long tradition from southern Germany, as an MTB specialist and partner of cycle racing, to the Baltic coast? "We want to bring the Bavarian bike spirit to the north," says Holger Dirks, Area Sales Manager North, "and wish the new Bundesliga team great sporting success in the 1st division!" In the event that something is faulty with the bikes, Corratec has enlisted the support of local specialist dealer allrid-E from Nortorf in Schleswig-Holstein. "We're e-bike dealers by nature, but we're making an exception for Holstein Kiel and the Premier League," jokes Managing Director Peer Schöninger. "We are delighted about the partnership with Corratec and KSV Holstein. Our mechanics will always keep the bikes technically up to date."
