BIKE Festival Willingen: Best of Day 3
The BIKE Festival Willingen 2022 ended with a sporting spectacle. In addition to the German Enduro Championship, the downhillers provided thrilling racing action on the Ettelsberg.

The third and final day of the BIKE Festival Willingen 2022 was dominated by the downhill specialists. In the enduro race, the new German enduro mountain biking champions were crowned on six challenging stages. The iXS Downhill Cup not only got the adrenaline pumping for the riders, but also for all spectators. With top speeds and spectacular jumps, the downhill specialists raced down into the valley against the clock. At the Expo, it was once again all about tracking down exciting products and new parts. While one half of the editorial team reported live on the most exciting new features of the festival and the events, the test editorial team used the trails around the Ettelsberg for a reader test. Together with our top contenders Maik, Anton and Jan (from left to right), we took the Test group for BIKE 08/22 over flow trails, rough enduro trails and tough climbs. The test bikes: Two bikes each from the down-country, trail and all-mountain categories. The price limit is 4000 euros. You can find out which category the testers liked best and which bike they would have preferred to take home straight away in BIKE 8/22 - in stores from 5 July.

The hypotonic (lower osmotic pressure than blood) and acid-free sports drink is designed to ensure energy supply before, during and after sport and is enriched with minerals. The hypotonic composition is intended to improve water absorption during prolonged exercise. Artificial additives have been completely omitted to optimise tolerability. The Carbotonic powder is also lactose-free, gluten-free and vegan. The 1 kilo tin costs 32.95 euros and is sufficient for around 12.5 litres.Photo: Peter Nilges Surrounded by two AllergoSan employees, former MTB pro and pharmacist Wolfram Kurschat presents the new sports drink Omni-Power Carbotonic. The US brand Cane Creek now has two new headsets in its range. With the Hellbender 70 Lite, lightweight fans will get their money's worth. By using high-strength aluminium for the outer rings of the bearings, a weight reduction of 35 percent compared to a conventional headset is possible. At the same time, Cane Creek claims the same durability. In the lightest IS version, the headset weighs just 54 grams, including the headset claw, cap and clamping screw, which have also been reduced in weight. Incidentally, the headset claw is also suitable for forks with carbon steerer tubes.Photo: Peter Nilges The US brand Cane Creek now has two new headsets in its range. The second new headset in the range bears the name Hellbender 70 Slam and ensures a maximally low cockpit thanks to a particularly flat upper bearing shell. This change lowers the cockpit by six millimetres for more pressure on the front wheel and a sportier riding position.
