Eurobike will not open its doors again until 2021
The 29th Eurobike will no longer take place in 2020. The bike show, which had been postponed to the end of November, had to be cancelled by the organiser after all. Tickets that have already been paid for will be refunded.

Updated on 16/10/2020 - Rising coronavirus infections, travel restrictions, accommodation bans: The organisers of the Eurobike Friedrichshafen had to pull the ripcord and cancel this year's trade fair. The date had originally been postponed from the beginning of September to the end of November 2020. A hygiene concept was finalised and the industry was eagerly awaiting the joint meeting.

However, the tightening of the coronavirus protection measures in recent days has had such far-reaching consequences that many exhibitors have cancelled their participation. "After numerous participants recently declared their cancellation, the Eurobike Special Edition 2020 cannot fulfil its task of bringing together supply and demand," explains Eurobike Area Manager Stefan Reisinger. The Eurobike press release states:

We were convinced until the very end that we would be able to organise EUROBIKE Special. The positive number of registrations for EUROBIKE Special, our comprehensive hygiene and safety concept, which had already been tried and tested at the Interboot trade fair, and the demand for an industry trade fair for exhibitors and trade visitors made us optimistic. However, the developments of the last few days require a rethink. Rising infection figures, corona-related travel restrictions and uncertainties regarding accommodation bans have recently prompted many participants to withdraw their participation in the trade fair. We very much regret this step and would like to thank you for your support. We remain optimistic for next year and are already working on a presence format that takes the future needs of the bike industry into account in the best possible way. We will announce the date and details as soon as possible.

Exhibitor reimburses costs

With the cancellation of Eurobike, tickets already purchased lose their validity. Messe Friedrichshafen will reimburse Eurobike exhibitors and trade visitors for the costs already paid. Refunds will begin as soon as possible in the coming weeks and will be made automatically via the payment method selected at the time of purchase.

Sebastian Brust was born in 1979 and was originally socialised on his grandmother's folding bike, but has mainly been riding studded tyres since his fifth birthday. Loves all kinds of bikes - and merging with nature. Believes that disc brakes are much safer today than they were 15 years ago and thinks he has helped with his brake and pad tests. However, the trained vehicle technology engineer very much regrets that the bicycle industry is orientating itself on what he considers to be the wrong ideals of the car industry. At BIKE, he corrects, produces and organises digital content on the website.
