The X4 Air is aimed at all those who prefer driving to fiddling: just hold it, film, done. The camera captures the entire surroundings in 8K 360°, while the AdaptiveTone and Active HDR technology should automatically ensure perfect exposure, the right detail, rich colours and stable shots - even when things get rough. Price: from 399 euros.
Waterproof up to 15 metres, equipped with interchangeable lenses and the proven FlowState stabilisation, the X4 Air is designed to withstand almost any action - rough downhills, mud battles or lake jumps, it doesn't matter. New: The lenses have a more resistant coating and can be replaced in just a few seconds in an emergency. This means that if the lens does get scratched, the entire camera is not immediately broken. This feature is particularly important for 360 cams with their two exposed lenses.
You can start recording without any buttons using gesture, voice or twist controls. The AI app takes over the editing if required, automatically adds music, transitions and reframes - and transforms raw material into finished clips for Instagram, TikTok or YouTube in just a few minutes. Thanks to InstaFrame mode, the X4 Air saves every video twice: as a full 360° clip and as a classic POV video from the front perspective.
It sounds as if the X4 Air is primarily aimed at outdoor enthusiasts who want a compact, lightweight and robust action cam. We are currently testing whether Insta360 has succeeded. We have the X4 Air in operation and will be reporting here shortly on our practical experiences from everyday biking. However, the price, weight and features already sound promising. - Max Fuchs, BIKE test editor
