The bicycle giant Giant is also known for its functional accessories. From the quality of the Shoes (for example the S-Phyre) and high-quality glasses (also S-Phyre) of the cycling giant. Now, with the Agos, Giant is sending an affordable pair of sports glasses into the test. At just under 100 euros, the Giant is the cheapest goggle in the test after the Van Rysel. At first glance, however, you don't have to do without anything.
Like most of the other test candidates, the Giant also comes in a high-quality hard case. In addition to the goggle bag, the Agos also comes with a clear interchangeable lens - a particularly useful accessory that allows the Agos to cover filter categories 0 to 3. The self-tinting filter ranges from category 1 to 3 and the set also includes a clip that can be fitted with the appropriate prescription by an optician.
The adjustment options, on the other hand, are manageable. On the Agos, only the pleasantly rounded and rubberised nose bridge can be adjusted. The temple tips are fixed.
The Giant is also not fully convincing in terms of visibility. Although it has a fairly large face cover, the lower part of the frame is clearly in the field of vision. Only in a very sporty position does the somewhat unusual half-frame construction rarely disturb the view.
Athletes with a narrow face will find the Giant less comfortable - it is rather wide and its frame lacks a bit of resilience. In combination with the narrow nose bridge, the Agos sits quite high up and sometimes starts to wobble on rough terrain.
Thanks to the strong curve and large windscreen, the Giant provides good protection from the wind. Draughts only reach the eyes at the cheekbones. The situation is different when it comes to anti-fog protection: The Giant does not have an effective coating and sometimes tarnishes a little in hot situations.
Despite tint level 1, the Agos has a clear and pleasant initial brightness and even has a slightly brightening effect thanks to the light blue tint. The inexpensive sunglasses also scored well in the laboratory. The Agos is in the top third of the test field for both darkening and brightening.
For just 100 euros, Giant offers an extensively equipped pair of glasses. Thanks to the clear interchangeable filter, the Agos covers almost all visibility conditions, the bluish tint has a brightening and slightly contrast-enhancing effect. The tinting speed is also excellent. Unfortunately, the glasses sit high and loose - the temples are slippery and the frame interferes with the field of vision.
