Adidas Eyewear: Are these two new lifestyle glasses all-rounders?

​Adidas Sport Eyewear is launching two new multisport sunglasses: the Kleon and the Dromeas – designed for cyclists, runners and walkers, and perfect for a stop at a café afterwards

Anyone who wears glasses whilst doing sport will be familiar with the dilemma: high-tech sports glasses look great on the trail, but a bit over the top in the café afterwards. Adidas Sport Eyewear tackles this very issue with two new models from its Active range – KLEON and DROMEAS. No futuristic shield designs here, but classic shapes designed to look good just about anywhere.

What’s inside? The POWERVIZN™ Lens System

Both pairs of glasses feature the same lens system: the POWERVIZN™ Lens System combines a special base tint with a mirror coating. According to the manufacturer, the so-called High Contrast technology is designed to enhance contrast, sharpen depth perception and optimise detail recognition – whether on tarmac, gravel, forest tracks or alpine trails. Sweat- and dirt-repellent coatings are also included.

KLEON – the Rectangular One

The KLEON weighs 30 grams and features a distinctive rectangular shape. Sturdy temples with pressure points are designed to ensure a secure fit, even during rapid movements. Customisable nose pads and rubberised temple tips complete the features. A ventilation system on the temples and upper frame is also designed to prevent the lenses from misting up during strenuous activity. Available in six versions, price: 135 euros.

DROMEAS – the Ovals

Weighing in at 27 grams, the DROMEAS is the lighter of the two and features an oval shape. In terms of features, it differs very little from the KLEON: medium-thick temples, adjustable nose pads, rubberised temple tips and the same ventilation system. Here too, there are six versions, priced at 135 euros.

Who’s behind it?

Both models are developed by the licensee Marcolin, reportedly in collaboration with athletes. Adidas Sport Eyewear divides its range into a Performance range and an Active range. In addition to sunglasses, the range also includes ski and snowboard goggles, as well as prescription sports glasses.
