Leatt is turning the Nukeproof Axess Racing Team’s jerseys into a standalone leisure collection. The limited-edition capsule collection features all four designs worn by the team during the 2026 downhill season. The range includes T-shirts, long-sleeved tops, hoodies and caps.
Leatt is thus expanding on the approach the manufacturer already adopted at the start of the season with the Rave-inspired NAR teamwear has pursued: rather than the traditional racing look, the focus is on bright colours, eye-catching motifs and clear references to acid house and rave culture.
Nukeproof Axess Racing appeared at downhill races in 2026 sporting a number of different looks. Leatt has now brought these four designs together in a capsule collection. According to the manufacturer, these casual items are similar to the clothes the riders wear off the track during the season.
The collection is therefore not a replica of functional racing kit. Rather, Leatt translates the team’s look into streetwear. The designs combine Day-Glo colours, graphic patterns and smiley motifs with the competitive world of downhill cycling. On the Leatt's international website The manufacturer describes the designs as a fusion of the energy of the rave scene and modern gravity racing.
The style deliberately emphasises contrast. Whilst teamwear in downhill cycling often focuses on brand colours, sponsor logos and technical functionality, Leatt takes a clear lifestyle approach. Visually, the capsule collection is more reminiscent of festival merchandise than classic World Cup fanwear.
This is in line with the team’s positioning: Nukeproof Axess Racing represents a new phase for the Nukeproof brand, which has been part of Belgian Cycling Factory . The striking design is intended not only to reflect sporting performance, but also to create a distinct visual identity.
Leatt describes the Capsule Collection as a limited edition. According to the manufacturer, the items are available via selected national Leatt online shops and at the team stand at the World Cup in Whistler. Prices start at 24.99 euros for the cap, whilst a hoodie costs 79.99 euros, according to Leatt.
For German customers, availability remains limited for the time being: the manufacturer does not list a German Leatt online shop in its country overview for the collection. Anyone wishing to purchase one of the four designs should therefore check the delivery options and the availability of their chosen size in the relevant shop before making a purchase.
What do you think of the Nukeproof Axess Racing’s rave-inspired look: a bold change of pace or a bit too much for the paddock?
