Retro is cult: Leatt is equipping the Nukeproof Axess Racing Team (NAR) for the 2026 UCI World Cup Downhill Series with a collection inspired by the rave culture of the 1980s. The South African manufacturer combines day-glo colours, wide cuts and smiley motifs with technical cycling clothing. The collection draws on the aesthetics of warehouse parties and underground clubs and brings them into modern downhill sports. That shreds!

Motocross and bike outfitter Leatt from Cape Town presents a clothing collection for the Nukeproof Axess Racing Team (NAR), which will be used for the 2026 UCI World Cup Downhill Series. The design picks up on the energy of the 1980s rave scene and transfers it to downhill racing. The images are certainly promising...

Leatt NAR Gravity Collection: Rave aesthetics meets racing

The collection is inspired by the underground culture of warehouse parties, basement clubs and abandoned industrial buildings. Leatt combines characteristic elements such as day-glo colours, wide baggy silhouettes and smiley faces with functional cycling clothing. The result combines two different eras to create a new look for downhill sports.

Be a Rebel: Emotional rejection of convention

Whether rave or punk - the main thing is to be against it: The collection sees itself as a deliberate departure from established standards in racing. Leatt focuses on unfiltered emotion and the moment, just like the rave culture of the 80s. The Nukeproof Axess Racing Team will be wearing the collection in the upcoming World Cup season.
