YT Industries Capra Uncaged 12: New carbon full suspension bike from YT presented

YT Industries' latest product is the Capra Uncaged 12, which is not a new development, but an equipment variant for the European market that features electronic suspension and the new XO Eagle transmission from SRAM. The carbon mountain bike is equipped with Rockshox Flight Attendant technology for the rear suspension. The Capra Uncaged 12 rides on Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro 7 carbon wheels.

YT Industries Capra Uncaged 12: The frame

The frame is made of Ultra Modulus carbon fibres and is said to have an even better strength-to-weight ratio than the High Modulus carbon fibres of the previous models (>>BIKE comparison with the predecessor model). The Capra Uncaged 12 is said to weigh 15.2 kg in size S (without tyres, bottle and pedals).

A size-specific chainstay length should also improve the balance of the chassis. This should be 438 mm for sizes S-L and 443 mm for sizes XL-XXL.

Tool holders are located under the top tube of the frame for enduro use. A bottle holder on the frame including a water bottle completes the scope of delivery.

Equipment and technology

The Rockshox Flight Attendant technology is designed to automatically adjust the front and rear suspension to the most efficient compression mode for the situation at hand. The 170 mm RockShox ZEB Ultimate Flight Attendant is located at the front.

The Super Deluxe Flight Attendant shock is equipped with electronic RCT3 damping. This communicates with the fork damping and the pedal sensor, which is mounted on the crank.

The new electronic X0 Eagle gearbox from SRAM is designed to enable smooth gear changes even under load. The full mount rear derailleur has a modular design and can be completely rebuilt. The flat chain and coatings are designed to extend the service life of the drivetrain. A Quarq power meter mounted on the crankshaft is fitted inside the XO aluminium crank. The Crankbrothers hubs are connected at the front and rear with special Synthesis carbon rims, which are intended to provide better control and stability. The tyre combination of Maxxis Assegai MaxxGrip and DHR II Double Down should work in all conditions.

The YT Industries Capra Uncaged 12 is available in the colour Space Blue for 5999 euros.
