Since Pole 2018 with the Machinea milled aluminium frame, caused a stir, things have become a little quieter around the Finns. Instead of pressing ahead with their carbon project announced at the time, they moved the emergency brake for ecological reasons and are focussing on production entirely at their own site. As with the Stamina presented in 2020, the new frame is also glued together from two elaborately milled aluminium shells. In addition to the production process, which has now even been adopted by other smaller companies, Pole has also undergone a number of other changes. For example, the company has been completely reorganised with new management, now has a larger production facility and, according to its own statements, has greatly improved the lack of customer service.
In addition, Pole is now having all frames tested by a German testing institute. In response to the test results, the connecting strut between the chainstay and seatstay (dogbone) has been reinforced on the revised Stamina (large image above). The wall thicknesses, adhesive surfaces and the top tube have also been optimised. A real eye-catcher, however, is the new electrophoretic paint finish, which originates from the jewellery industry. It is designed to provide an even harder and more resistant surface than anodising, without the use of toxic chemicals.
