170 millimetres of rear and front suspension travel, 29-inch wheels and, for the first time, a carbon frame: The Bonn direct mail order company Radon The new Swoop is aimed at bike park riders and enduro bikers for whom the Radon Jab with 160 millimetres is too little. The Radon already had an aluminium swoop on 29-inch wheels in 2019 is now available. The Radon developers have developed a new carbon main frame for this, while the rear triangle is still made of aluminium. There will be three models of the Radon Swoop (model year 2021) between € 2999 and € 4499, each in frame sizes M-XL.
The most affordable model is the Swoop 9.0 for € 2999. A Rock Shox Lyrik Select Charger RC Debon Air is fitted at the front and the Super Deluxe Select+ at the rear. There's also a Sram GX Eagle 1x12 drivetrain, the DT Swiss E1900 Spline wheelset and a Magura MT5 (203/180mm). Like all new Swoop models, the 9.0 is also equipped with a headset with steering angle adjustment and a chain guide. The Swoop 10.0 for € 3999 is equipped with Fox suspension with the new Fox 38 fork. It also comes with Shimano XT/SLX gears and an SDG dropper post with 150 mm travel. The Swoop 10.0 HD is "all in" for 4500 euros: Fox Factory suspension (Fox 38/Float X2), Sram X01/GX Eagle, Sram Code brakes and 30 millimetre wide Newmen Evolution SL wheels. The Swoop 9.0 is expected to be available from the end of May, while the other two Swoop carbon bikes should be available from July, according to Radon.
