The E-Riot is the latest addition to the E-segment from the Upper Palatinate. The current season started with the E-Riot Trail and 150 millimetres of suspension travel. For the 2022 model year Ghost has significantly expanded the portfolio. Because until now: bikes for bumpy enduro terrain or alpine trails? No such thing. This is exactly what Ghost wants to change for next year, presenting the E-Riot AM and EN, the perfect machine for enduro and all-mountain riders. The key data: 29-inch and 160 millimetres of travel on the AM version and 170 millimetres on the Enduro version. Also on board: the new smart system from Bosch and the large 750 watt-hour battery.
With the new E-Riot models, Superfit technology is making its way into Ghost's e-bike segment. The promise: The frame sizes are adapted so precisely to different body sizes that everyone should have an identical riding experience. For example, the chainstay and crank lengths also grow with the frame sizes. The idea behind this: Arm and leg lengths should usually be identical for people of similar height. According to Ghost, this was the result of analysing the biometric data of hundreds of thousands of men and women. The developers claim to have used this data to create an algorithm that determines the optimum geometry depending on body size and riding style. The focus is on the optimum position of the interfaces between man and machine. In other words: handlebars, pedals and saddle. The individual models are customised with a special geometry for beginners, advanced riders or experts. Also practical: in order to provide small riders with comfortable handling, all bikes in frame size S ride on 27.5-inch wheels.
The engineers from Waldsassen rely entirely on the engine power of Bosch. The latest version of the drive also delivers 85 Newton metres of maximum torque. The Powertube battery delivers 750 watt hours of battery capacity, which, to put it bluntly, gives the customer 20 per cent more trail fun compared to the old 625 energy carrier. To accommodate the significantly longer battery, Ghost has pulled the down tube forwards massively. The power pack can be pulled downwards out of the closed down tube. This means that the long battery also fits in frame size S - which is not a matter of course. More information about the new Bosch system in a separate article on new products. prepared.
The top models of the two e-bikes E-Riot AM and E-Riot EN come with a carbon fibre main frame and high-quality equipment. If you look at the pricing of some other manufacturers, the prices are almost moderate. The two most expensive variants cost 6499 and 6999 euros respectively. On the downside, Ghost is currently aiming for a sales launch in spring 2022.
