The DJI Avinox is currently dominating the bike industry. The new e-bike motor from China has quickly become the most talked about product in the bike world. The enormous power and low weight set a new benchmark. In tow: a host of new e-mountainbikes. Velduro is a completely new brand entering the market. Two New Zealanders and a Chinese rider want to take off with the E-Enduro Rogue.
The full carbon frame lays the foundation for a powerful downhill E-Enduro. The rear triangle with a high pivot point and chain deflection, which should provide between 165 and 172 millimetres of suspension travel depending on the setup, is striking. Velduro speaks of a "mid-pivot design". The progression of the rear suspension as well as the wheel size in the rear triangle (29 or 27.5 inches) can be adjusted using various flip chips. Previously Forbidden an E-MTB with high pivot rear suspension to the start.
With the Avinox drive from DJI, Velduro has opted for what is probably the hottest e-bike motor at the moment. As with most other Avinox bikes, the battery is also permanently installed on the Rogue. The bikes come with the large 800-series battery, but the smaller and lighter 600-series can also be fitted as an option. Speaking of weight: Velduro gives the total weight of the bike as 23.6 kilos for the top model. The downhill-orientated equipment puts pressure on the scales - and Velduro seems to be working with realistic weight specifications here. With some other DJI bikes, the exuberant weight claims of the manufacturers turned out to be exaggeratedly light.
The Velduro Rogue is also available as a frame set for individual self-assembly. This costs 4999 euros, motor and battery included of course. There are also two complete bikes to choose from for 6999 and 9999 euros respectively. Both come with an Avinox motor and 800 Wh battery ex works. The first bikes should also be available in Germany from April 2026.
We haven't had the newcomer in our hands yet, but the bike is definitely exciting! After all, Avinox bikes with an enduro focus have so far been the exception rather than the rule. The price tag on the Rogue remains comparatively fair. - Florentin Vesenbeckh, Test Editor BIKE Magazine
