The new Performance Line CX motor from Bosch is bringing with it a whole league of new e-bikes and e-mountainbikes. Corratec is also seizing the opportunity and reorganising its entire e-bike fleet. The sporty highlight is the E-Power RS 160, which has been given a few other updates in addition to the new motor and the 800 battery.
The most important update to the Corratec RS 160 is of course the new Bosch drive system. The new Bosch CX motor delivers up to 600 watts and 85 Newton metres at its peak and thus remains at the same level as its predecessor. However, the new motor is slightly more compact and lighter, remains somewhat quieter under load and no longer rattles downhill. The new batteries with 600 and 800 watt hours deliver an outstanding range, and the riding experience has been further improved compared to its predecessor.
Aluminium frame with a carbon look: Corratec is also following a trend with the new RS 160 with polished seams. meanwhile also Cube, Focus and Orbea for a long time in their aluminium models. This should ensure an organic design language even without carbon fibre. However, while the previous RS 160 also had ground seams, the new one simply implements the trend even more consistently.
The second innovation is hidden in the frame. As with all full-power e-bikes, Corratec also relies on a separate cable duct for the RS 160, which is firmly embedded in the aluminium frame. This should ensure a tidy appearance in the down tube even when the battery is removed and also simplify servicing. This also prevents cables from being jammed by the battery. However, the down tube is unlikely to be a real lightweight, and the new Corratecs with the 800 battery and the separate cable compartment are not particularly slim either.
Another key feature of the new bikes is the C-Finder. The chip integrated into the frame, based on Apple's Air-Tag, allows you to keep an eye on your bike at all times. The feature was already supplied ex works on many e-bikes in 2024. The tracking device is permanently integrated into the frame. The tracker does not need to be charged. It gets its power directly from the main battery and remains active for several months even when the bike is not being ridden.
With the entry-level model RS 160 Elite, Corratec also offers the new E-Enduro at a favourable price point. It comes with a mechanical 12-speed drivetrain (Sram SX Eagle) and at least the affordable Psylo Silver from Rockshox. The Pro model for € 5999 with Rockshox Domain and Deore 12-speed is a little more luxurious. The Pro Team comes with a Zeb fork and shock with reservoir, while the Factory model relies on electronic shifting with Eagle Transmission and Rockshox Ultimate suspension. Cost: 8499 euros.
