The Andorran manufacturer Commencal is expanding its e-bike portfolio with a new enduro model. And not just any model: at Eurobike 2025, it presented the Meta Power SX DJI with the new DJI Super Motor from China. This makes Commencal the Red Deer (for R.EX with DJI Avinox) is the second major brand to launch an e-MTB with the DJI Avinox. The enduro bike has an aluminium frame with 160 millimetres of travel at the front and rear. The best prerequisites for turning the bike into a powerful all-rounder.
The centrepiece of the new Meta Power SX DJI is the DJI Avinox drive. This delivers a maximum torque of 120 Nm and a peak power of 1000 watts. This should enable the e-MTB to tackle even the steepest off-road climbs. Despite the enormous power, the Avinox remains relatively compact and light. However, there is no weight specification for the complete bike in the Andorran documentation.
A battery with a capacity of 800 watt hours integrated in the down tube is responsible for the power supply. This should also enable longer tours with a lot of vertical metres. For space reasons, a smaller 600 Wh battery is only used for frame size S. According to Commencal, the quick charger allows the battery to be charged to 75 per cent in just 1.5 hours. This makes the permanently installed battery much easier to cope with.
The frame geometry of the Meta Power SX DJI is based on the other popular Meta fullys. The steering angle is 64 degrees, the seat angle 77.9 degrees. The chainstays measure 445 or 450 millimetres, depending on the frame size. The reach is long and is between 440 and 505 millimetres.
Commencal's Virtual Contact System (VCS), which unites all of the brand's gravity bikes, is responsible for the suspension on the rear triangle. The VCS kinematics have a virtual pivot point. The rear triangle is connected to the main frame via two separate rockers. As a result, the engineers promise balanced riding behaviour in all situations.
According to Commencal, deliveries of the Meta Power SX DJI are scheduled to begin in spring 2026. Interested parties can already pre-order the bikes for a deposit of 10 per cent of the purchase price. Commencal is offering the Meta Power SX DJI in three different equipment variants, which will cost 7900, 9500 and 10950 euros respectively.
The Essential entry-level model relies on a Fox 36 Performance fork, a Fox Float X Performance shock and a SRAM Eagle drivetrain. The brakes are from TRP.
The Signature version is one equipment level higher. Here, a Fox 36 Factory fork and a Fox Float X Factory shock are used. The gears are shifted electronically with SRAM Eagle AXS. The brakes are supplied by Shimano with the XT model.
The top model Podium comes with a Fox Podium fork and a Fox Float X2 Factory shock. The rest of the equipment largely corresponds to the Signature version. All models roll on DT Swiss wheels.
