Avinox presents a comprehensive firmware update for its Avinox M1 e-bike motor. The new version brings an increase in performance in turbo mode, extended customisation options for assistance modes and improved data visualisation. Both the Avinox app and the device firmware have been given new features to customise the riding experience.
One of the most striking innovations concerns the turbo mode of the Avinox Drive System. The maximum power in this mode can now be set to up to 1000 watts instead of the previous 850 watts. The motor already had a peak output of 1000 watts before, but only in short-term boost mode, which had to be activated separately. The duration of this boost mode can now be set individually in the new software.
The power update from DJI follows very closely on the heels of the performance upgrade from competitor Bosch. With its update for the Bike Festival in Riva, Bosch had narrowed the gap to the Chinese somewhat. This is because the latest Bosch motors now deliver up to 750 watts and 100 Nm of torque.
In addition to the pure performance increase, the update for the DJI Avinox also offers more options for customising the assistance modes. Users can now customise the order of the assistance modes according to their preferences and hide or display individual modes as required. This function makes it possible to customise the operation of the e-bike more closely to personal preferences and riding styles.
Another focus of the update is the improved display and control of driving data. The display can now show up to eight elements simultaneously, and a stopwatch can also be integrated. The option to visualise specific data in bar charts or line graphs should be of particular interest to drivers with an affinity for data. This enables a more detailed analysis of driving behaviour and performance data during the journey. In addition, the function for deleting driving data has been implemented, which enables better control over the stored information.
The update should also bring improved compatibility with external accessories. External bike lights can now be connected and controlled via the wireless controller. This not only increases comfort, but also safety when riding at dusk or in the dark.
In addition to the innovations for the riding experience directly on the e-bike, various functions in the Avinox app have also been optimised. The cloud switch has been revised and synchronisation with Strava should now work better. After the update, the app should actively prompt you to activate the ride data backup to ensure smooth synchronisation. The display of account information has also been optimised, making it easier for users to view information about their currently logged-in account.
