The stroke definitely speaks in favour of the freeride category. The manufacturer calls the bike a long-travel enduro bike. The equipment leaves hardly anything to be desired. Fox Factory suspension, Sram Code brakes with large discs, proven tyre combination. Check! Eye-catchers are the split down tube, the chic effect paint and the high-pivot construction.
On our test track in the Geißkopf bike park, the Jekyll feels overpowered, pumps more sluggishly through flatter sections than other bikes and craves traction. The situation is different on steep, angry sections: Then the bike generates a lot of confidence and flattens everything out with its sensitive, potent suspension. In short, the Cannondale Jekyll is more of a specialist than an all-rounder. Our racers in the test field criticised the steering behaviour, which took some getting used to due to the super-short 35 millimetre stem. Uphills can be mastered despite the chubby weight. Although the rear triangle does not have a platform, it hardly bobs even in open mode. The test duel against the Pivot Firebird we have in the FREERIDE 4/21 published.

Confident, safe, fast. The Jekyll generates massive amounts of grip and takes a lot of work off the rider's hands. On tamer descents, we missed pop and feedback from the ground.
