Bergamont brings E-Enduro with Shimano drivetrain
The 2019 models of the E-Enduro Trailster and the touring e-bike E-Contrail have one thing in common: instead of Bosch, Shimano drives the riders up the mountain.

For 2019, Bergamont presented the latest versions of its E-Enduro Trailster and the touring-orientated E-Contrail at Eurobike 2018. Bergamont is now relying on a Shimano E8000 drive unit and is thus moving away from the Bosch motors previously used. The battery has 500 watt hours when fully charged and provides plenty of power. A nice detail: For the first time, the motor and battery of Bergamont e-bikes are fully integrated into the frame. This makes for a sportier look.

Thanks to the flip-chip, the rider can choose between 27.5-inch and 29-inch tyres. The geometry remains the same. With a 470 millimetre reach in size L and 462 millimetre chainstays, the Bergamont E-Trailster is likely to be a smooth-running bike. The steering angle of 65.5 degrees for size L, the 75 degree steep seat angle and 160 millimetres of travel at the front and 150 millimetres at the rear will appeal to trail-oriented riders who appreciate a certain level of comfort both downhill and uphill. The 130-millimetre E-Contrail full-suspension bike is mainly aimed at touring bikers.

On the most expensive models, Bergamont installs Fox suspension and a 12-speed drivetrain, while the more affordable models have Rockshox suspension and 11 or 10 gears under the saddle. Exciting: In addition to the Shimano drivetrain, the control unit is also from Shimano. The new Shimano Steps E7000 adorns the handlebars of the new Bergamont e-bikes.

Bergamont will be selling three versions of the touring-orientated E-Contrail. The Enduro E-Trailster is available in five versions, of which the FMN model has been specially designed for the female clientele.
