Deputy Sheriff: US-style bike clothing for men and women
With unusual designs and functional details, the Swiss brand Deputy Sheriff aims to offer wild outfits for mountain bikers from touring riders to downhillers.

The still young clothing manufacturer Deputy Sheriff from Switzerland has fine-tuned its "FUN" clothing range for enduro riders, marathon racers and touring riders and presents the new black and orange "Highway Patrol" set. The design of the short-sleeved jersey and the matching trousers is clearly dominated by the US heraldic animal, the bald eagle. All images can be found in the photo galleries at the end of the article.

The jersey is made of UV-reflective functional material and should therefore heat up less in strong sunlight - a desirable effect, especially with black fabrics. As touring and enduro riders are usually travelling with a rucksack, there are no back pockets. However, the Deputy Sheriff Jersey is not completely without storage space. Small items that can be reached while riding can be stowed in a side zip pocket. The "Highway Patrol" jersey costs 99.90 euros.

The "Highway Patrol" trousers have sensibly placed stretch inserts over the buttocks, in the crotch and on the outside of the thighs. The waist size is adjusted using external Velcro straps. Despite their low weight (192 grams without inner trousers, size M), the shorts should be sufficiently robust and comfortable enough for endless rides into the sunset thanks to the removable inner trousers. The price: 149 euros.

The stylish Starlet and Ponderosa women's sets are also equipped with the same technical features. The concealed zips on the jerseys (which, by the way, reach up to the navel on the ladies' jerseys, but only to the middle of the sternum on the men's jerseys) do not detract from the design, while the slightly shorter legs of the shorts provide a little more legroom.

For friends of the harder pace, the "THRILL" collection offers almost indestructible shorts and wide long-sleeved jerseys, which of course also conceal the most complete protector equipment. Very peppy: the team design of the reigning Austrian downhill champion Anita Molcik.

Sebastian Brust was born in 1979 and was originally socialised on his grandmother's folding bike, but has mainly been riding studded tyres since his fifth birthday. Loves all kinds of bikes - and merging with nature. Believes that disc brakes are much safer today than they were 15 years ago and thinks he has helped with his brake and pad tests. However, the trained vehicle technology engineer very much regrets that the bicycle industry is orientating itself on what he considers to be the wrong ideals of the car industry. At BIKE, he corrects, produces and organises digital content on the website.
