First a cross-country ski with Kästle, then an exclusive gravel bike with OPEN Cycle and now a mountain bike as an exclusive special edition: the Upper Bavarian clothing brand Maloja has taken a liking to projecting its creativity and independent design language onto products beyond sportswear. The latest example: the "Soul in the Mountains" MTB special edition of the Wiawis race bike. The Korean bike manufacturer first appeared as a sponsor of Sabine Spitz, and Wiawis has been providing the Maloja Pushbikers team bikes since 2020. For the special edition Maloja has taken on the Alpeca marathon fully. The 29-inch bike in the unmistakable Maloja look will initially be available in a limited edition of 100. However, as Wiawis likes the Maloja design so much, the Koreans will add it to their model range in 2022.
Some component manufacturers also supply suitable add-on parts, above all Magura, FSA and SQlab. The equipment is strongly orientated towards the sponsors of the Pushbikers professional MTB teams centred around the main protagonists Fabian Giger and Barbara Benko. There will be two equipment variants of the 100-millimetre full-suspension bike. The suspension comes from Manitou (R7 and Mara), the brakes are provided by Magura MT8, the drive is a mixture of FSA components and Sram GX Eagle parts and the saddle and grips are supplied by SQlab. The top model, the LTD version weighing 9.9 kilos, will cost 6700 euros, while the Pro version is priced at 5500 euros (10.6 kilos in size M). The special Maloja bikes will be available in frame sizes S to XL from May 2021. The limited edition mountain bikes are available either at Pushbikers Shop or you can order them from any Maloja dealer.
