The Spanish bike manufacturer MMR is expanding its portfolio in the cross-country segment in 2025. Light, fast and uncomplicated - with these attributes, the new carbon hardtail is aimed specifically at amateur racers and performance-orientated bikers. Thanks to the monocoque construction made of so-called intermediate modulus carbon, the chassis of the Rakish should, according to MMR, offer particularly high stiffness at a low weight. Pleasing to the eye: the cable routing is completely inside the frame. In terms of suspension travel, MMR relies on the proven 100 millimetres on the suspension fork. Wheel size: 29-inch. MMR offers the Rakish in three equipment variants, with prices starting at € 1,999 for the entry-level model.
The carbon frame of the Rakish is based on MMR's G3 geometry concept. This is intended to provide a good balance between climbing ability and smoothness on fast descents. The head angle is 69.5 degrees - a rather conservative and steep value in view of the increasingly slack geometries. At 74.2 degrees, the seat angle is moderately average. The chainstays are very short at 425 millimetres, which should ensure agile handling. Depending on the frame size, the reach measures between 407 and 465 millimetres. MMR offers the Rakish in four frame sizes from S to XL. All variants roll on 29-inch wheels.
At the front, the top model Rakish 00 comes with a Fox Performance suspension fork with 100 millimetres of travel and remote lockout. The more affordable versions are equipped with a Fox Rhythm or Rockshox Judy Silver Air. For the drive components, MMR relies on 12-speed gears from Shimano or Sram. The top model comes with a Shimano Deore XT groupset, while the entry-level model is fitted with a Sram SX. The wheels come from MMR's own production. For the tyres, the product managers relied on the expertise of Vittoria.
