It's no longer a secret that tubeless systems have many advantages. The Swiss company Milkit has addressed the problem of high maintenance costs.

Tubeless systems have become increasingly popular in recent years. And for good reason. Because riding tubeless has numerous advantages: Without the inner tube, you save around 200 grams per wheel, rolling resistance is reduced and grip is increased. Puncture resistance also increases, as classic punctures, one of the most common causes of punctures on simple tubular tyres, can no longer harm tubeless systems. Smaller holes are sealed by the latex milk, meaning that even normal tyres can be ridden at pressures below 2 bar without any problems.

But even tubeless systems are not maintenance-free. The sealant must be completely replaced at least twice a year because it has dried out. In practice, this means deflating, removing the tyre completely, removing the latex residue and refitting everything again. About an hour's work per bike!

Tyre service: About the Valve from Milkit The tyre can be easily and cleanly topped up with sealing milk. The air remains in the tyre.

And just to check whether there is still enough milk sloshing around in the tyre, the air-out, tyre-down action is far too time-consuming anyway. This is exactly where the developers at the Swiss company Milkit come in. A special valve can be used to check the amount of sealing milk still in the tyre. If it is necessary to top up the milk, this can also be done via the special valve. The air remains in the tyre and the tyre remains on the rim. This is not only much quicker, but also more precise and cleaner.
