With the Comp Bigfoot pedals, Californian component manufacturer Ritchey presents its first model in the platform pedal segment. This is the company's response to the increasing demand for versatile flat pedals that are suitable for everyday use as well as for more demanding applications. According to the manufacturer, the Comp Bigfoot pedals are a robust and cost-effective alternative to conventional aluminium pedals. The use of reinforced nylon as the main material enables a low weight and high load capacity at the same time.
The Comp Bigfoot pedals have a generously dimensioned platform measuring 105 x 108.5 millimetres. The concave shape with a depth of 18.5 millimetres is designed to ensure optimum foot positioning and improve grip on the pedal. Nine interchangeable and height-adjustable pins on each side ensure a reliable connection between shoe and pedal. This design aims to offer maximum control even on demanding trails or jumps.
With the Comp Bigfoot pedals, Ritchey focuses on a combination of durability and ease of maintenance. The axles are made of chromoly steel, which guarantees a high load capacity. A plain bearing on the inside and a sealed industrial bearing on the outside protect the mechanics from the ingress of dirt and moisture. This design is intended to ensure a long service life with minimal maintenance. Weighing 360 grams per pair, the Comp Bigfoot pedals are positioned in the mid-range segment and, according to the manufacturer, offer a good balance between weight and stability.
Ritchey emphasises the versatility of the Comp Bigfoot pedals. They are designed for use off-road, for gravel or for riding in the city. The robust construction allows the pedals to be used for daily commuting as well as for more demanding trails. At market launch, the pedals will be available in the "BA Black" colour variant. For the second half of 2025, Ritchey is announcing an additional colour variant "Mojave Sand" to meet the individual design wishes of riders.
With a recommended retail price of €44.95, Ritchey is positioning the Comp Bigfoot pedals in the affordable segment. The pedals are now available from the official Ritchey website, certified Ritchey dealers, local bike shops and selected online retailers. This wide availability should ensure that interested bikers can easily purchase the pedals.
